Debora received a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas Tech University. Her fields of study include Education, Business and Human Sciences. She completed course work for a doctorate in Human Sciences. She is licensed or certified in education, social work, child care administration, child placing administration and family life education.Debora has served on state advisory committees for Texas Employment Commission, Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services and Texas Commission of Health and Human Services. Ms. Phillips is the founding President and Chief Executive Officer of Children’s Connections, Inc. Previously she was an early childhood Special Education teacher, a child care center director and administrator and a registered family home provider.

L. LeAnne Carnes, MEd, LPC, NCC, CFLE
Vice President, CCO, Adoption Coordinator
LeAnne received a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies and a Master of Education degree from Texas Tech University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a National Certified Counselor and a Certified Family Life Educator.
LeAnne has served on the board of parenting, child abuse, and substance abuse coalitions. Ms. Carnes serves as the Vice President and Chief Operations Officer of Children’s Connections, Inc.
LeAnne has 15 years of experience in working with birth and adoptive families to help them on their adoption journeys.
Children’s Connections Inc. has remote staff located throughout Texas to provide services to birth and adoptive families. These professional staff members have expertise in adoption, case managment, parent education, human development, family studies, child abuse and juvenile justice.
Andrea is an Adoption Coordinator at Children’s Connections. Andrea graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work. She is currently attending graduate school to earn her Master’s Degree in Social Work. Andrea’s work experience is very diverse; she has worked at a substance abuse treatment center, as an advisor at a local university and also with the homeless population. Andrea’s passion for the adoption field stems from her personal experience with adoption as she was adopted and hopes to adopt in the future. She enjoys assisting birth moms and helping them to accomplish their goals and aspirations. When she isn’t working, she spends her time with her family or volunteering at her church. Andrea is a very spiritual person who wants to make a difference in the world and tries to live her life as an example for others to follow.
Adoption Coordinator Associate
Karissa received her degree from Texas Tech University in Community, Family and Addiction Services. She is an Adoption Coordinator Associate at Children’s Connections where she assists families in working through the completion of their home study process. She most enjoys seeing an infant in the arms of his or her adoptive parents after the long process of adoption. Karissa is passionate about her work and knows that every day she is working towards connecting a family. When she is not working, Karissa spends time with her family and frineds and enjoys hiking and rock climbing.
Brigette is the Staffing/Training Coordinator at Children’s Connections. She attended Lubbock Christian University and majored in Psychology. Brigette coordinates our child nutrition program as well as helping child care providers serve nutritious meals. She schedules training opportunities for staff, family child care professionals and adoptive parents. She enjoys working with Children’s Connections because she likes knowing that she has a part in connecting families, especially since she was adopted. In her spare time, Brigette enjoys reading and also coaches little league sports teams.
