Virtual Fund-raising Planner
Children’s Connections, Inc. needs assistance in planning for fund-raising activities that will support adoption. In particular, we need funds to support the following services:
- Adoption information, resources and referral services to any adoptive family who wishes to adopt in Texas
- Case management for pregnant women who are deciding if they wish to parent or place their child for adoption
- Resources and support services for pregnant women considering adoption for their child, prior to their being matched to an adoptive family
- Case management for adoptive families adopting older children through the foster care system without becoming foster parents
We need a volunteer who can prepare an annual fund-raising plan for our agency. Tasks include:
- Looking through existing electronic e-books and other resources on developing a fund-raising plan,
- Visiting with agency staffers about ideas for fund-raising projects and tasks, and
- Developing a plan that provides specific tasks for staff and volunteers each month over the course of a year.
This volunteer may work virtually from his or her own home or office. This task requires that the volunteer have access to a computer with Word and email capacity.
This volunteer position will work with the Chief Operations Officer at Children’s Connections, Inc.

Peer Advocate for Positive Choices
Children’s Connections, Inc. is looking for volunteers to work with pregnant crime victims. Pregnancy can be a joyous experience but for the survivor of a crime that joy may have been overshadowed. Our Peer Counselors guide, support and encourage pregnant women as they traverse the legal and medical systems after a crime. This position allows you to help pregnant crime victims make positive choices.
Duties:
- Accompaniment to law enforcement meetings or court hearings
- Accompaniment to at least 3 medical visits
- Being available by phone and/or text
- Delivering brochures to OB/GYN medical offices and clinics, hospitals, law enforcement, district attorney’s offices, crime victims services agencies, schools, social service agencies, etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or be in the process of obtaining a degree
Requirements:
- Attend free training via conference calls and webinars
- Provide proof of car liability insurance (you are not required to transport)
- Must pass criminal and child abuse/neglect background checks
- Must live in Texas
