Connecting Hearts Infant Adoption
Let Us Help You Grow Your Family 2 Feet at a Time
Children’s Connections wants to make every step of your infant adoption journey as smooth as possible!
We will handle all details of your infant adoption journey– from your first inquiry until when your adoption is finalized – with continued support at every step of your adoption journey down the road! Connecting Hearts is focused on placing newborn infants, and occasionally older children, in loving adoptive homes across the United States. We believe that adoption should be available to all who are willing and capable of providing a child with a loving, nurturing home.
We provide free adoption consultations to help assess your needs, develop an action plan for your adoption, and assist you in implementing your plan. You only pay for the specific services that are provided to you.
Think of us as your full service child and infant adoption tour guide!
Children’s Connections works with adoptive parents and birth parents to create adoption plans that best meet the needs of all involved. Our birth parents are all from Texas, but our adoptive parents come from throughout the United States. We work with all families equally and our main criteria is that you can provide a loving home.
Our Adoption specialists will develop openness plans that are in agreement with the wishes of the birth and adopting families. We encourage openness in adoption, since openness leads to more successful outcomes for everyone in the adoption triangle. However, we understand that some situations, and some families, may choose varying levels of openness. Each situation is different and we will have in-depth conversations to find out what is right for you, the child, and birth parents.
When a birth mother comes to us that meets your choices, your profile will be shown. Birth mothers will see every profile that are matches. We do not limit the number of profiles shown just because one adoptive family may have been working with us longer than the next family. The Birth Mother deserves to see all available choices. This increases your chances of being picked sooner.
30+ Years of Child and Infant Adoption Experience
Since 1987, Children’s Connections adoption agency has been working with families and infant adoptions. We have completed hundreds of placements over the years and average approximately 30 adoptions per year. Our adopting pool is limited in size to 25 to 30 families. We limit the pool size so that no one has to wait a long time!
Texas Statewide Coverage For Adoptees and Adopters
Our Adoption Agency is statewide! We have over 70 satellite locations throughout the state of Texas. Our primary Adoption Support Center is located in Lubbock, Texas. CCI works with expectant mothers located across Texas and we are able to provide local services to help each one have a healthy pregnancy. Texas is the second largest state in the union in terms of size and population, the state government has created laws that are very pro adoption, thus increasing the number of adoptions taking place each year.
Communication is Very Important
Communication is extremely important to us. Our adoption specialists will be in contact with you and the birth mother on a weekly basis once a match has been made. We want to build a strong relationship with you and the birth mother. We also encourage you to build a relationship with the birth mother as well. By adopting, you are creating a life long bond.
Profile Book Expertise and Help
When creating your profile book, do not stress, we will be there to guide you through it. We understand what birth mothers are looking for in Texas and we can help you create the right profile book for you. Your profile book is what is presented to birth families to choose from and we want each one to be amazing.
We will be with you from the beginning to the end of your infant adoption journey, plus years beyond!

Home Study Process
Starting on your adoption home study may seem overwhelming! It’s common to think that your home and your lives must be “picture perfect” in order to “pass” a home study. The purpose of the home study is to document your background and home life. Rather than seeking to “inspect” you and your home, your adoption social worker is there to help you think through the process of adding a child to your household. He or she will want to help you be successful throughout your home study and adoption!Preparing for Your Home Study
Affording Your Adoption
You have many options when deciding how you will fund their adoption expenses. Additional resources may be discussed with a Children’s Connections, Inc. (CCI) Adoption Coordinator. The following are a few ideas to consider and we strongly suggest visiting our Making Adoption Affordable Page for more details.

Open Vs. Closed Adoption Choices
One of the most common question from adoptive families is about open adoption verses closed adoption. Most people enter with fear and misunderstanding about what open adoption means. Open adoption is not co-parenting. It is the process of keeping communication channels open between the biological parents, the adoptive parents, and the adopted child. The best way to start the journey into learning about open vs. closed adoption is by defining the two terms.
Don’t Worry, Children’s Connections will work with you and educate you about your choices. We will help you make the decision that is best for you and your child. To learn more, please click on the Open Vs. Closed Adoption logo below.
Frequently Asked Questions:What are the benefits of open infant domestic adoption?
The benefits include the adoptive family will have access to the child’s health history, have the opportunity to develop a relationship with the child’s birth parents and be able to share with the child the reasons his or her birth parents made an adoption plan. Open adoption is beneficial to all parts of the adoption triad, the adoptive family, birth parents and child. What is openness in adoption?
Openness in adoption is defined as contact between the adoptive and birth families and is on a continuum from closed to open adoption. Openness in adoption is not co-parenting or confusing for the child. Instead, it allows some level of contact between the birth and adoptive families throughout the child’s life. This helps the child not to feel abandoned or rejected. What is the average level of openness?
Most birth parents want some level of openness, but the amount of desired contact varies. We help birth and adoptive families negotiate and come to an agreement about the level of openness in the adoption. This level of openness is not legally binding, but is based on trust and facilitated by CCI.
