Free Respite Care for Children of Active Duty Military in Texas

Children’s Connections can provide free respite care for special needs children of active duty families up to 40 hours per week. The respite care services are for all families of deployed or active duty Air Force and Navy service members who have a child or children with moderate to severe special needs.

How do I apply?

Children’s Connections can help you get started or you can contact your Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) liaison on your base directly or through MilitaryOneSource.mil. We are the designated provider of free respite care for all of Texas, except Bexar County. We are here to help you get the help you deserve.

Do I have to live on base?

No, the only restriction is that you live in Texas. If your spouse is away on active duty and is stationed out of Texas, but you are in Texas, you are still eligible.

Who provides the free respite care for my child or children?

Children’s Connections will provide a specially trained respite provider. The individual will be able to care for your children and meet their needs. All staff are fully background checked and have the heart and passion for helping children.
